This project was initially started to add an apparatus bay and convert the bathroom into individual bathrooms. After initial meetings it was determined to expand scope and renovate the majority of the living space to support move towards private dorm rooms and a separate captain office

Originally this was a two bay station that could only support six firefighters. Call volume in the area clearly indicated an additional resource was needed

Space was taken from the patio and incorporated into the station. Flooring was all removed and polished concrete was the finished floor throughout the station

Pictured above - Fire Station 83 in its original condition before the renovation. It had a group sleeping area and only one bathroom, which is not conducive to today's diverse workforce.
Pictured left - Individual dorm rooms for all crew members as well as individual bathroom facilities. A Captain's office was created to allow for a private area for supervisor-to-employee conversations.
The kitchen and Dining area were also expanded to allow for the additional staff being brought in.

The station is well located and was just resource deficient. By adding space, the district has reliable first in resource avaiability

Designed to maximize operational workflow and built a gym to allow for crews to maintain optimal physical health while maintaining response coverage.
System Resiliency
The building was reinforced to meet current code standards and ensure it was reslient to any impacts
